On this GX345, the forward pedal was rubbing against the plastic foot mat, causing the forward pedal to stick. So even when the driver took their foot off of the pedal, the mower kept going forward which could lead to a dangerous situation in a hurry! We adjusted the foot pedals on this machine so that they no longer got stuck on the plastic floor mat.
The setup on this GX345 is similar to many other John Deere models including the 325, 335, 345, 355D, GX models, GT models, LX models, even the X series machines. These foot pedals are adjustable and can also be adjusted to change the speed you go when you depress the pedal (for example, if your pedal is “bottoming out” on the foot rest, you may not be able to go as fast as you’d like). Be sure to check your owners manual or contact your dealer so that your pedals are adjusted correctly as we are not familiar with the exact specs on these models!
